Don't get me wrong, the HO52 is an excellent design. However, they don't make aftermarket ring and pinion. You are stuck with years of wear, rust, etc. Not to mention, a ratio numerically lower than 4.10 was never mass produced. No option for 3.73 or 3.42 to work with a 3-spd transmission.

Well, I've got my benchmark measurements, so it's off to the salvage yard! Hope a 9.5" semi-float 14-bolt will match-up well enough. I might also measure some non-gm Sterling and Dana if easy to get to. Will report back in a future video.
