What can you control in life? Your actions. This is ALL you can control. Can you control if someone is unfaithful to you? No. Can you control if someone loves you? No. All you can control is how you love and show up for others. If that is not being honored you must align yourself with people who care about you and would never think to jeopardize the relationship they have with you for lust, greed or other lesser values. Loyalty and respect are earned. You cannot force these things. But you CAN choose if you'd like to stay in the relationships you find yourself in. People will behave how they will. This is not your concern. What is your concern is setting the proper expectations for behaviors you will allow and which you will not - once those are set it is up to those around you to either honor those or side step those. Then, you act accordingly. Until you surround yourself with people who share the same level of commitment and respect for you as you do for them by them honoring your boundaries do not entangle yourself with these people. Release them from your life. Move on. It's not ruthlessness, it's respect for yourself. For, no matter how much or little money you make, how successful or unsuccessful you are hold yourself in a high enough regard to not tolerate shadiness and inconsistency from the people who claim to care about you. If you don't, your value will be taken advantage of. So, love freely and openly but don't go through life assuming everyone will reciprocate that same level of respect back to you. These are the things we learn in life through trial an error. Love & embrace the process because you'll grow immensely as person.
