Tamia Fowlkes is a recent graduate from the University of Wisconsin – Madison where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Political Science with certificates in Gender and Women’s Studies and Leadership. Her journalistic passions stem from a passion to inform and educate her peers and community. Tamia currently serves as a Digital Optimization Intern for USA Today, and she has previously worked for The Rachel Maddow Show on MSNBC, WISC-3 TV News, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Wisconsin State Journal, Isthmus and Madison Commons. All of her positions have heightened her passions about politics, education, writing, and activism, and she is excited to continue growing as a writer and leader. In the fall of 2022, Tamia will begin her M.S. program at Columbia Journalism School.
