BMW R1300GS vs R1250GS (GS 1300 Trophy, GS 1300 Triple Black, GS 1300 Option 719 Tramuntana) in this direct side by side test / review and comparison which took place over 3 days, I have had the opportunity to compare the outgoing R1250GS Rallye (my own bike) with the new R1300GS in its base Light White option, but it was fully loaded with almost all the optional extras available in the catalogue.

Sadly, the weather was not brilliant during these 3 days of testing (constant rain and wet roads) but this gave me an ideal opportunity to really see just how good this new R1300GS really is, used in real world condition that “us” GS owners normally ride our motorbikes.

Simply put, it’s an amazing motorbike that has really improved over the out going R1250GS which many of us own and ride… and I really like it !

I highly recommend going to your local BMW dealership and booking a test ride. Just make sure the dealership you use FULLY understands all the options and accessories and packs that can be fitted / ordered so that YOU have the best chance of ordering the perfect motorbike, in the right configuration for your riding requirements.

This is just Part 1 of a new series of episodes that will cover all the new aspects of the new design along with in-depth technical reviews explaining the new technologies and especially how YOU can get the best from your new R1300GS.

If you have any questions, just leave me a comment and I will reply…
