As a new airstream owner, I am learning lots every day. Learning how to back up has been a high priority on my to do list. Although I’m happy I was able to spend this day practicing backing up, I still have a long ways to go! In this video, I also go over prepping the trailer inside & out to be towed, hitching up, getting the airstream weighed, and practicing towing on the highway.

As promised, here is my teardown checklist:
Inside:
- Stow and secure all loose items
- Close and lock all windows
- Turn off lights and appliances (water heater, water pump, A/C, etc)
- Turn off and close ceiling fans
- Latch fridge, TV, bathroom mirror, and shower door
- Make sure toilet is only slightly filled to maintain seal and close lid

Outside:
- Lock door
- Retract step and awnings
- Empty tanks if possible
- Disconnect from water/sewer/electric
- Latch vent closed
- Turn off propane
- Raise stabilizer jacks
- Check tire pressure
- Inflate tires to appropriate PSI if needed (mine is 80)
- Tighten lug nuts with torque wrench (mine is 110 pound-feet)
- Stow loose items and lock outside compartments
