It's fair to say the Volkswagen ID.3 hasn't been the runaway success its maker might have hoped for. While it's a good car, VW's family hatchback has come under fire for its infotainment system, build quality and cost compared with some rivals. In response, Volkswagen has facelifted the ID.3 for the 2024 model year, and in this CarGurus UK video Vicky Parrott looks into the various changes.

For the exterior, notable differences include the removal of the black bar at the bottom of the windscreen, new headlights, and more aerodynamic intakes. Inside meanwhile VW has made changes to improve the interior quality, while at the same time incorporating 70% recycled materials. While the overall finish is classier, it's a shame that VW's new 12.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system wasn't ready in time for the redesign - although it will still make it to the ID.3 in due course.

The ID.3 is now available in two trims: Pro and Pro S, priced from just over £37,000. It offers the option of either a 58 kilowatt-hour (kWh) or 77kWh battery, with the latter providing a range of up to 347 miles. A smaller battery option with a 210-mile range is expected to be introduced later. The ID.3's charging capabilities are impressive, with the Pro S supporting rapid charging of up to 170kW, enabling an 80% recharge in just 30 minutes.
