• Dozens of schoolchildren from the Flying Hills School of the Arts will join paintbrushes under the auspices of Family Health Centers of San Diego (FHCSD), Peanuts, and the nonprofit Foundation for Hospital Art as the children bring to life a charming 74”x37” mural featuring Snoopy and the Beagle Scouts (aka Woodstock and his bird troops!)
• The six-panel mural—a permanent gift to FHCSD and its young patients in underserved communities—features an easy-to-follow template designed to bring joy and well-being to both the artists and the clinic’s young patients.
• “This is a wonderful example of Cajon Valley’s promise of engaging meaningful work within and beyond our community. This beautiful mural from Peanuts and the Foundation for Hospital Art brings with it important benefits for the Clinics’ patients as well as an amazing lesson for our students to ‘paint it forward, ” says Stacey Perkins, Principal, Flying Hills School of the Arts.
• “Mental and emotional well-being are inextricably linked with physical health, so we are delighted that Snoopy, Woodstock, and students from the Flying Hills School of the Arts will be helping impart a sense of joy to our young patients,” says Fran Butler-Cohen, CEO of Family Health Centers of San Diego.
• FHCSD is one of 28 sites on four continents currently receiving murals from Peanuts Worldwide as part of a multi-year “Take Care with Peanuts” initiative promoting caring and good global citizenship.
