I do hope that if you watch this crazy short video, it puts a smile on your face at least once. Truth be told. My son is currently learning editing and I had this old homemade minidv videotape recorded by an amateur at my behest. I gave the tape to my son who edited this short video piece. I loved this guys laugh and his wonderfully positive attitude toward life. Having filmed on board US Navy submarines and done a major documentary on it for television (you can see clips from it on my YouTube channel by searching the word "submarine"), I know that those in the submarine Navy who had been to sea are tough folk. It isn't easy being on a submarine and it takes a very even-tempered person to survive it. This guy not only has that but his wonderful attitude was probably a joy for his mates when things got tough or lonely or when the stress inside the boat was high.

Whenever I hear someone belly laugh, my body takes over and I just laugh as well. And as we know from medical research, laughter is a healthy thing and you live longer if you can laugh or at least smile 10 times a day. I live with a woman, my wife, who says things that I think are funny all day long. Fortunately for me, she thinks I was well and so we are a laughing together family.

This was recorded in 2006 and I don't know what happened to this gentleman after but I hope that he has lived and continues to live a life filled with laughter.
