This video details how to get the rear-facing cargo lights to turn on while the truck is in drive. From the factory, GM only allows you to turn on your cargo lights when the truck is in park (or reverse in some models). This harness from Boost Auto, will override the factory function and allow you to turn on your cargo lights at any time, in any gear including reverse, drive, and neutral. While the vehicle is not in park, the cargo switch will operate as a momentary switch which must be pressed and held for safety reasons.

This harness will work with 2022-2024 Silverado & Sierra 1500 Refreshed trucks as well as 2024+ Silverado & Sierra 2500/3500 Heavy Duty trucks. The override will activate both the cargo lights on the bed of your truck and the cargo lights on your tow mirrors (if equipped with towing mirrors that have properly functioning cargo lights before installing this harness). The installation is very simple and it only takes 5 minutes to install. This installation applies to both Chevy and GMC trucks.
