Imagine booting up NBA 2K and handpicking players based on height, skill, and basketball IQ. You'd probably end up with two legends: LeBron James and Magic Johnson. Though from different eras, these two legends have eerily similar play styles. Both are pass-first players, always looking to make their teammates better.

It's like they've got eyes in the back of their heads and maybe even on their elbows and knees! They can see plays unfold before they even happen. It's almost as if they've got the game's source code.

Magic Johnson, the Showtime Lakers' maestro, dazzled the 80s with his no-look passes and infectious smile, the era of short shorts and sky-high afros. He was a pass-first point guard trapped in a center's body, a rare breed who could orchestrate an offense from any position on the floor. Fast forward a few decades, and enter LeBron James.

The King, who's been dominating since the 2000s, an era so modern that even our grandmas are probably tweeting. While having the athleticism to soar like Jordan, he often dazzled with his court vision, reminiscent of Magic's heyday.

If Magic was Mozart, he's all about composing those beautiful symphonies on the court, then LeBron is the Jay-Z of basketball, mixing old-school fundamentals with new-age flair.

Magic had the charm of the Lakers' franchise history to cement his legacy. LeBron? He also chose the Lakers, drawn by the Magic of the franchise and its history. He even got his own mode in NBA 2K24, called 'The LeBron Era,' which is like the basketball equivalent of getting your star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

So, for the million-dollar question. Who's the better player?
