Hi girlie, welcome to Debrief Sesh where we talk about dating, pop culture, and dating in pop culture. I usually have hot takes about literally everything so if unfiltered opinions are your thing, hit the like and subscribe button for more unhinged content✨

Dating could be really tricky. Showing up pretty, well-dressed, and well-spoken is not going to guarantee a great dating experience. Modern women like us want to put real work on our mindset, and make sure that our magnetic glow is as genuine as it is irresistible. We have all heard countless feminine energy tips to take care of your love life and elevate your well-being. But how deeply do we understand them, and how well do we implement them in real life?

I'm here to provide us with a solution to that. Debrief Sesh is a community made by women for women everywhere with the same goal: understand what it means to be a high-value woman to ourselves. We respect differences, and honor the fact that every woman has her own vision of who she wants to be, and how she wants to be perceived. By discussing dating role models and female characters on TV series, dating shows, and popular culture moments, we turn these conversations into reflection tools, and figure out what it means for each of us to be our own dream girl.

In this video, I'll talk about the character relationships in Marry My Husband. Ji-won is the female lead, and her enemies are the ones closest to her: Soo-min is Ji-won’s best friend from middle school, and Min-hwan is her first ever serious boyfriend and later, husband. In real life, I’ve seen many women who suffer for and because of, the closest people around them. And it’s such a terrible situation, not just because it constantly makes you feel sh*tty, but also because it’s so hard to leave. We love Ji-won, but we never want to be her. So then the question is, how do we know when we need to walk away from someone? And what kind of people should we look for? What does is mean to pick the people who will feed into our energy, nurture us, and help us become the woman of our dream?

Pop culture context for clueless girlies (you're not alone, don't worry):
Marry My Husband is a 2024 South Korean television series, starring Park Min-young, Na In-woo, Lee Yi-kyung, and Song Ha-yoon. It is based on a web novel of the same name, which took Korea by storm for its satisfying revenge plotline.
The series takes place in 2023, and our female lead, Kang Ji-won is terminally ill with gastric cancer. After catching her husband, Min-hwan, in bed with her best friend, Su-min, Ji-won is accidentally killed by Min-hwan. Ji-won then awakens in the year 2013, having been sent back in time following the intervention of her late father's spirit. She discovers that in order to live a better life, she must transfer her misfortune to others. She then resolves to have Su-min marry Min-hwan in order to exact revenge and escape her miserable fate.
