Hello everyone and welcome to a new video!

After the cliff hanger in the previous video, here is the conclusion to this project. I set out to make two historically inspired skirts, where they main goals were to use fabrics from my stash, and make adjustable skirts that had historical silhouettes that I could comfortably wear for every day life. My body fluctuates a lot, even within the same day, so I wanted some more garments that could accompany its changes. I always think clothes should fit us, never the way around!

The first project covered a 1900s skirt, much mure autumnal tones and dark academia vibes, and you can find it here:    • Can Historical Skirts be Adjustable? ...   For this project, I used three meters of mustard yellow linen, about a meter of linen tape, and under a meter of firmer linen that I used for the hem interfacing (optional for sure!). The skirt is made up of two rectangles, one for the back and one for the front, that are 1.5 meters in width and the desired skirt length in length (mine was around 32'' with a deep hem). Overall, the project, like all 18th century plain petticoats, was very simple and rewarding to put together, since it goes by very quickly but the result is great! There also lots of potential, as you can do tiered skirts, or skirts with trimmings, flounces, etc. The skirt can be gathered instead of pleated if you prefer as well!

I think this sort of style has a lot of styling potentials, from #cottagecore to #piratecore (for that #pirate style).
