Let's look at the games that Konami did for the Sega Genesis. I even throw in a Sega CD classic for good measure.

Episode Notes:

1. All games captured via the Mega SG.

2. If Sega of America had any sense at all, they would have licensed Konami's Batman Returns engine from the SNES game and done one for the Mega Drive. Can you imagine how a Sega CD version would have been with those driving sections and a beat'em up of that quality?

3. Many of these games had SNES variants that were often very different games. Only a hand full of these titles were direct ports.

4. Konami had a Genesis version of Biker Mice From Mars in development at some point but cancelled it before release.

5. Konami's custom sound driver drove many of these games. Stuff like Sunset Riders, TMNT, and Rocket Night Adventures, all used the same tools.

6. Konami has a few trademarks when it came to Genesis development. They loved using huge multi jointed sprites, and many of their games features some form of reflection special effect.

7. The TMNT Tournament Fighters that appeared on the SNES is often considered a great game compared to the Genesis effort. Honestly, while I do feel its a better game, it's still a second rate fighter.

8. Frogger was on the Genesis, which Konami held the license to, but had nothing to do with the development of that particular game. Junction was on the Genesis as well, another Konami owned license, but it was done by Micronet.
