This is another piece from high school I wrote (I think my junior year) that I recently rediscovered. I played French horn in the concert band at the time, and my goal was to have the band perform it, but as with most of the stuff I work on, I quickly forgot about it and it never happened.
My band director in high school was extremely smart and exposed us to a wide range of challenging music. I remember once having a conversation with him about Beethoven's 5th symphony, and how Beethoven created a whole movement based off of just a four note motif, exploring all of its possibilities. I remember using that advice while writing this. Looking back, it was probably some of the best advice I was ever given in regards to writing music.
The first tune is Hava Negila, and I have no idea what the second tune is..I just remember the choir was singing it in Hebrew at the time, and I thought it was beautiful, so I used it!

The sounds for this recording are computer generated from whatever sound bank the Finale software I used at the time. I lost the music, but I hope to sometime write it out again.

Enjoy!
