I've made a few minor upgrades and modifications to my Cub Cadet that I am very pleased with, I hope you will find them helpful if you own an XT1 or XT2.

Based on my previous experience with TuggTorq transaxles, I highly recommend changing the oil in the TuffTorq transaxle.

TuffTorq says changing the transaxle oil isn't needed. -- "Normally the Residential IHT (K46), which is featured in many tractor & rider models, does not require any servicing for the life of the vehicle."

But they do acknowledge that changing the oil extends the life of the transaxle in 'heavy usage applications'. -- "In heavy usage applications, oil changing is recommended after the 1st 50 hours of operation and every 200 hours, thereafter."

My only complaint with the mower is that the seat safety switch is far too sensitive, or I'm too skinny, because it cuts off the mower every time I hit a bump, mow on a slight incline or shift my weight in the seat to try to give a spinning rear wheel a bit more traction. I am not suggesting that these modifications are appropriate for anyone, only that I have chosen to make them. You take full responsibility for your actions should you choose to make any modifications to your mower.
