A 2022 UNHRC (United Nations Human Rights Council) study found that there are over 108 million displaced people in the world.

Our Ambassador Zoya El–Miari had escaped two wars (in Lebanon and Ukraine) by the age of 22. On reaching Switzerland, she decided to share her journey with the world as an act of resilience. In 2022, Zoya attended the One Young World Summit in Manchester, where she met refugees from around the world, with similar struggles, stories and trauma as her. This propelled her to start a global storytelling movement, Waves to Home.

Waves to Home is providing displaced people with a supportive community and platform where they can process their trauma and amplify their voices.

Watch Zoya’s speech to learn more about her story.
