Original writeup of concerns📝

Areas of concern:

1. Air to fuel meter not working on dash
2. Bank 1 sensor 1 Heater wire showing resistance (per code)
3. Car runs normal and feels fine with the exception of CEL being on (P0053)
5. Shorty headers installed 2 years ago (no code) & CAI installed 5 years ago (no code)

Personal Diagnostic:

- Replaced the upstream o2 sensor with a motorcraft one
- Swapped the o2 sensors from driver side to passenger side to see if the code followed and it didn’t.
- Checked for resistance in the o2 sensors (only) and showed 3.7 ohms between both sensors (driver and passenger)
- I checked the female pigtail of the passenger side o2 sensor wire harness and through a test pen showed there was voltage when ignition is on.
- Checked the heater wire with a test pen and showed it was working with engine running (light flashing on pen as it should)
- Looked inside the wire harness for rips or tears and didn’t see anything unusual with the exception of a wire closest to the fuse box that had aluminum foil wrapped around it. Wire was exposed and taped it back up.
- Cleaned the connectors with electrical cleaner and did nothing
- **Shook wire harness and A/F meter on gauge worked. Then it didn’t work again trying it the next day.**
- No vacuum leaks or exhaust leaks from my understanding (tested)
- Unplugged the battery and cleared codes and nothing happened.

Possible issue?:
- Heater wire doesn’t have a good connection
- MAF sensor not giving an accurate reading to the ECU causing inaccurate A/F numbers.
- Connector between O2 and wire harness not having good enough connection
