Just yesterday the EPA website has updated to reveal a long anticipated new Tesla Model Y certification. That said, this new Tesla Model Y cert is not what we were expecting.

As you can see on epa.gov, the Tesla Model Y AWD has just showed up. It boasts 123 MPGe, 280 miles of range, and shows a quicker charging time than the Model Y LR AWD.

What is interesting about this is that it seems to be named similar to the long absent Model Y SR, but also has AWD instead of RWD as was present on the previous SR Model Y.

Does this mean that Tesla has certified a new version of the Model Y SR? Does this mean Tesla is planning to offer a Standard Range Model Y again? What battery will be used in this car and where will it be made?

So many questions come from this finding, and although we don't know everything for sure, there are some clues to help us identify if this is equipped with the LFP, 2170 or 4680 cells.
