NFL players—and really the rest of society if we are being honest—seem to now be all about their appearances.

And for the men on the gridiron, one critical aspect of that look is the facemask protruding from their team helmet.

Over the years, we have seen players try many an iteration of facemasks, either for aesthetic purposes, because the players believed that the design gave them some sort of competitive advantage, or as added protection from a specific injury.

And some of these ended up being so crazy that the NFL ultimately banned them.

Without further ado, let’s take a look at some of the craziest facemasks we’ve ever seen being worn by NFL players.
