We bought 35 acres and are living up on top of a Mesa in Colorado. We are building our dream home ourselves and enjoying all the family time in nature! All of our remaining belongings are packed up in a shipping container that we started burying months ago. There were some concerns we had about the integrity of the ceiling. Our worst case scenario came to fruition when Ingrid went to compact the dirt over the top with the roller. The ceiling started collapsing! We were blessed to only have a few items get crushed. We were able to borrow a jack from a friend and pair it with a 4x4” post to pop the top back up. We have a solid plan on how to reinforce the top with rebar and concrete and tie it into our retention wall. Video of this project completion coming soon!

Feel free to watch as we continue to learn and experiment while we build our dream home mostly off grid in the middle of nowhere!

People are constantly asking if we need anything. We aren’t asking for donations but if people really want to help. Here is a list of things that we use regularly or that we do need and will buy ourselves in time. God bless you all for you love and support ❤️
