“I feel the most beautiful after I’ve won a race,” Dina Asher-Smith tells Bazaar in our exclusive video. “I feel fabulous, I feel like Beyoncé!” she jokes.

Naturally, being an athlete, she values her body for “what it can do, rather than what it looks like”. That’s one reason why Asher-Smith’s such a fierce advocate for young women entering sport. “It’s amazing for you in so many different ways but also it’s important for how you view yourself”.

That’s not to say she doesn’t embrace cosmetics when racing – quite the contrary. Her best beauty trick is using milk of magnesia as a primer to ensure her make-up stays put on the track. “Whenever I’m racing, and I’m sweating, I typically put this on underneath, so it doesn’t budge – even if it rains, I’ve just got a nice beat face!”
