Jurnee Smollett stars in the new film from director Minhal Baig, We Grown Now, which follows a single mother and her two children in Chicago. The pair spoke with MovieWeb's Julian Roman about their moving indie film and its very personal roots, and how Smollett connected with the role by thinking of her mother and grandfather.
