This year the Diego Sepulveda Adobe is 200 years old and is the second oldest building still standing in Orange County. It is also the oldest building in Costa Mesa. The pandemic caused it to close but the time was well spent and many needed renovations were made. On October 1, 2022 the Costa Mesa Historical Society held a grand reopening of the Adobe with presentations by Mayor John Stephens, OC Supervisor Katrina Foley and Adobe Docent Cindy Humphreys. Guest speaker and cultural anthropologist Stephen O’Neil gave an in-depth history of the Adobe and the people who were first here.

The event included tours, refreshment, crafts, games and live music.
