A state innovative technology grant was obtained to test an algae harvesting barge in saltwater. This technology has been successful in freshwater and has promise as an algae-combating tool in saltwater too. This tool could target localized severe algae blooms and stop them from spreading while we also work to reduce the source of pollution-causing algae blooms through the hundreds of pollution reduction projects in the Save Our Indian River Lagoon Plan.
