If you’ve seen my Apple Watch Series 7 review, you will know that I am very happy with my Series 7, in terms of design and features, it truly represents the best of the best when it comes to the smartwatch industry. However. There is one problem and that has to do with the durability of the display. After only a few months of use my series 7 has already started to show hairline scratches on the display, something I never had on my previous Apple Watches. Needless to say, this is not good, so today I want to find a solution! There are many ways to protect your Apple Watch display. After looking around online, I narrowed it down to 4 main screen protection options and ordered the best rated product in each category. 360 degree plastic clear case. Case with glass screen protector. Glass screen protector. And a plastic TPU screen protector. So after testing all 4, what’s the verdict? First, I would not go for the transparent case style we looked at first. It easily scratches, worsens the display’s clarity and touch sensitivity. It also just doesn’t do justice to the design of your $400 Apple Watch. I also would not go for the plastic screen protector we looked at last. While it doesn’t effect touch sensitivity, it is very thin. So thin that I feel this may peel over time and too scratches very easily. That bring us to the last two, these both are options I can recommend you try. The hard case with screen protector is overall the best option, especially for protection, not getting a single scratch from my keys and the glass is clear and feels good to the touch. Yes it is not the most minimalist design, it is still low profile. Finally there is the glass screen protector, this option is best if you want a minimalistic solution and want to retain and show the design of your apple watch. It’s precise form means it curves to the watches display and it’s more rigid design and tough adhesion means this is less likely to fall off, thought for a product that is marketed as being made of glass, I do wish it provided better levels of scratch protection. So that gives you my thoughts on each of the 4 main screen protection options for the apple watch. Which will I use? For the time being I will use the glass screen protector but am keep the case with built-in screen protector for days where I fly!
