Destiny 2's Lore and Story from the Season of the Deep is giving us hints about the origins of the Witness and how it might have been uplifted by the Traveller. Thanks to hints from Ahsa in the first and second weeks of the seasonal story, we have heard about how the Witness might've known the Traveller from a city of light.
