WHAT IS KERATOSIS PILARISIS?

Keratosis Pilarisis (KP) or more commonly known as chicken skin, is a skin condition that causes dry and rough patches with small bumps usually found on the arms, cheeks, buttocks, back and armpits. Sometimes confused with acne because of the tiny bumps but keratosis pilarisis doesn't fluctuate based on hormones unlike acne.

It is also genetic, about 50-70% of people who have keratosis pilarisis have parents who also have KP.

WHAT DO YOU DO IF YOU HAVE IT?

Work on sloughing off dead skin cells so the protein doesn't get stuck. Allow your skin to shed off more frequently. You may use any kind of exfoliating products or something that would help you get a new skin on the surface.

I've tried the following:

- Chemical gel peels
- Lactic acid peels
- Salisylic acid scrub
- Glycolic acid
- Alphahydroxy acid
- PMD personal microderm
