A very quick guide to how to play lance. Pause where you need to.

The biggest misconception of the Lance is that it is slow and clunky. The Lance has a great variety of mobility, and in multiplayer hunts people should see you flying past them. In single player you can very elegantly stick to most monsters without being separated for more than a couple seconds.
The second biggest misconception is that it is a defensive weapon. It is just as defensive as the Great sword and Long sword, so take the same mentality. Stay in position and use your moveset to weave defence with offence to continue your combo.

0:30 - Relentlessly stick to the monster's weak spot.
