Put on a massive diet of nearly 10% weight savings (265lbs) over its standard NSX sibling, no stone was left unturned during the development process of the NSX-R. Development assistance from 3x Formula 1 World Champion Ayrton Senna further instilled a focus on chassis rigidity, resulting in a car with unheard of balance and poise from a country that had never previously made a super sports category car.

Among numerous firsts, the NA1 NSX-R not only set the expectation for future Type R vehicles, but set an entirely new benchmark for the super sports car category altogether.
