With more and more grasslands being converted to farmland and an ever increasing population density, Elephant crop raids are becoming more and more common In Africa - damaging up to 70 percent of all crops in some areas. With their Livelihood at risk, farmers often have little chance but to use spears against them, injuring and potentially killing the elephants. In recent years, however, one somewhat unorthodox method found more and more success in protecting farmland and because it is a lot less harmful it is now helping to save elephants lives.
