Even though their careers in Lexington may end up being brief, Cason Wallace and Chris Livingston don’t regret a single second.

After Kentucky’s 75-69 loss to Kansas State, the five-star freshmen came to the podium with John Calipari. Both played well in the second-round defeat. Wallace was second to only Oscar Tshiebwe on the team in scoring, finishing with 21 points (9-11 FG, 1-1 3PT, 2-2 FT), 9 rebounds, 5 turnovers, 4 assists, and 2 steals. After a sloppy start to the game, Wallace settled in and tried to put the team on his back, even taking a knee to the face in the process. Fifteen of his 21 points came in the second half.

Livingston also made some key plays down the stretch, including a three to cut Kansas State’s lead to one with 9:51 remaining. Unfortunately, Wallace and Livingston’s play wasn’t enough to overcome Antonio Reeves and Jacob Toppin’s struggles. The two seniors were a combined 2-22 from the floor for 7 points.
