In this brief talk we examine the division between man as political animal and man as artistic spirit in the western tradition. Through this dichotomy of politics vs. art we learn that the artists stand opposed to the idea of man as a political animal and envision mankind as a creature of love whose virtue, meaning in life, and ultimate destiny is found in love of others.
