It's a tough day in the PlayStation landscape, as SIE confirms they will reducing their workforce by about 8%, or 900 staff. Sony also says they'll be cancelling several games across PS Studios, and closing down London Studio. Only two months into 2024 and the games industry has been brutal, with layoffs now in the thousands. Sony wasn't going to be isolated from the growing pressure of generating healthy returns and growth for shareholders, and now the consequences have arrived.
