Part 3 Pretty basic stuff here, switching a loud inefficient flex fan for a quieter and gas-saving clutch fan takes minimal skill and just basic tools. There's nothing advanced about this procedure except just a couple important notes. How to make sure the new fan is balanced with a bushing if needed. Also you may have to file off the thin layer of powder coating from the inside of the fan mounting surface to get it to fit perfectly on the new clutch device. This is very common and mentioned in almost every review of this overwise high-quality fan. It sounds worse than it is; it's very simple to either file it by hand or use a Dremel-type tool. It took me less than 2 minutes to do this for a perfect fit.
You will also need to get new shorter bolts because you'll likely be eliminating the fan spacer which is not needed when making this exchange because the clutch fan is already spaced be design. Just remember that most bolts for fans are fine thread, and some are left handed threads depending on your specific application. Keep your old bolts when going to the hardware store to make sure you get the right thread orientation and thread spacing!
