Brenda Evans murder house .

History

On October 7th 1977, Brenda Evans who was 17 years old at the time went on her lunch break at work from the post office. Everyday Brenda would walk to her aunt and uncles house for lunch and then return to work. On one day concerns were raised when Brenda didn’t return to work, lots of people gathered to search for Brenda. Later that evening Brenda’s body was found in a manhole behind her house in the forest.

Brenda had been strangled with her own tights and dumped down a 12ft manhole – just 500 yards from a field where her fiancé, 20-year-old farm worker John Pritchard, had been cutting hedges that afternoon.

It is strongly believed someone from the local community murdered Brenda. Her body was discovered by her fiancés mum. Murderer David Evans who murdered 15 year old Anna Humphereies was later questioned in regards to Brenda’s murder.

Mr Pritchard was questioned for 27 hours and was not released from police bail for four weeks but was never charged.

The case was never solved as to who murdered Brenda Evans and it still remains unsolved.

There is no information on where the aunt and uncle went. The property has been abandoned for around 10- 15 years .
