As I upload this, today Talking Heads are back together for the premiere of the new edition of Stop Making Sense, and are hosting a Q&A together at Toronto International Film Festival (2023-09-11). This was a similar event that happened on April 26th 1999, where they got back together to carry out questions & answers at a press conference the day before a new edition of Stop Making Sense premiered at the San Francisco Film Festival to celebrate the film's 15th anniversary.

Since this event, the only time that David Byrne, Jerry Harrison, Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth gathered together was in 2002 for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction, so over 20 years later it's pretty significant that they're doing it again alongside all the new Stop Making Sense stuff that's happening!

I spent a while noting down timestamps and questions (summarized, not word-for-word) for easy navigation to find questions. First two questions are asked by the host, Peter Scarlet, but later questions are taken from a variety of others in the audience.

Recorded Monday 26th April 1999 during a press conference held at Dolby Labs in San Francisco, the day before Stop Making Sense premiered a new Dolby Digital print at the 42nd San Francisco Film Festival on the 27th. This video is credited as being supplied courtesy of The San Francisco Film Society, special thanks to Graham Leggat, Miguel Pendás and Peter Scarlet (who hosted the Q&A) and has been included in Blu-Ray editions of Stop Making Sense.
There were unfortunately a couple of short glitches where the video froze for 5-10 seconds but I have edited those moments to be shorter blips (they happen around 26:15 and 57:00)
