For this week's episode, Arshan took a trip to Toronto Canada to sit down with one of the greatest producers of our generation, WondaGurl. WondaGurl has been an inspiration for not only many female producers, but all producers. She has had many placements with artists like Travis Scott, Drake, Rihanna, Jay Z, Don Toliver, Lil Uzi Vert + more. She has her own label called Wonderchild Records & is signed to Cactus Jack as a producer. In this interview we talked about how she wouldn't ever want to be a beat battle judge despite winning battle of the beat makers at such a young age. She talks about how she got in touch with Travis Scott early on through Hit Boy, and produced Uptown for him, which eventually she crowdsurfed to in Toronto during Travis Scott's concert. She talks about how that relationship formed and lead her to working on songs like Antidote, God Level, The Prayer, and essentially every Travis Scott album like Birds in the Trap Sing McKNight, Rodeo, Astroworld + more. She talked about her latest work on Travis Scott's UTOPIA album where she produced 6 songs. She even touches on how BNYX is an inspiration to her despite him looking up to her as a producer for years. WondaGurl mentions her own artists at Wonderchild such as Jugger, Chris Larocca + more. Wondagurl talks about how cooking is her passion outside of music & how she views it as another creative outlet. Kids Take Over is based in Vancouver, Canada.
