My stepdad's parents kindly agreed to let me interview them about my grandfather's time in Korea.

My grandpa Gerald has Alzheimer's--so sometimes he forgets things. I took this opportunity to ask him about his family--half of which is Amish and get a few cultural details before I started asking about Korea specifically.


There are a few names my grandpa mentions:

Dow : an Army buddy of his that he met in Korea. They are still friends. He lives in Maine now.

Kim Kisoon: A native Korean man who my grandpa was really good friends with.
