Tucker Hogan is one of the top wrestlers in Pennsylvania and he showed why at the Berks County Individual Tournament. Hogan won the 189-pound championship in dominant fashion at Reading High School. The junior from Daniel Boone reached the final with three consecutive pins in under one minute. Hogan got a 20-5 technical fall versus Tim Saylor of Berks Catholic for his second straight county title. Hogan was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Wrestler. He won a District 3-3A championship last year and finished third in the state. Hogan is optimistic about his chances for a PIAA title this season. "I believe in myself. I believe in the training I've been doing. I think if I just stick with it, I'll be all right," said Hogan. His father, Jim Hogan, is the head coach at Daniel Boone. "He's helped me a whole lot. He really helps me on the mental side...keeps me in check," replied Tucker. Hogan is also training with former four-time state champ Chance Marsteller. He went (166-0) at Kennard-Dale High School and later became a two-time All-American at Lock Haven. Hogan is receiving interest from several Division I programs. He's (21-0) this year and (83-5) overall. Hogan mentioned that he tries to eat 8,000 calories a day! He spoke with SV Sports' Paul Roberts about his favorite food, musical performers, and teacher.
