Mo Wagner has just been knocked out by Killian Hayes after he threw this punch to the back of his head. Caleb Houstan throws a bad pass to Mo Wagner leading him to go get the ball, but he sees Killian Hayes out of the corner of his eye and shoulders him into the crowd starting a massive fight and as you can see here, Killian pounds the back of Mo’s head. In this clip you can’t see Mo Wagner anywhere after the punch and that’s because he was knocked clean out and is laying on some of the chairs here. I understand Mo Wagner shouldn’t of pushed him out of bounds but a punch in the back to the head is THE MOST dangerous spot to strike someone. It’s not even allowed in MMA or any combat sport for that matter. The reason why it’s so dangerous is not that the back of your skull is softer or weaker, it’s because if you miss the punch and you hit the back of the neck, it can damage the spinal cord leaving the victim possibly paralyzed for life or even dead. Luckily for Mo, as you can see in this clip, Killian actually punches the upper back of the skull, so there was no risk for spinal cord injury. It seems he was only concussed which is not to be taken lightly, a concussion is the result of the brain moving rapidly back and forth or banging against the side of the skull, and this sudden movement can stretch and damage brain tissue and very rarely lead to bleeding in the brain or brain swelling that can be fatal. Mo Wanger will probably be out for a while and I won’t be surprised if Killian is suspended for this.
