HBase and Cassandra are NoSQL databases. NoSQL database is a type of non-relational database that does not store data in tabular form, but rather it stores data in JSON-like document. HBase permits access at the cell level, whereas Cassandra supports access at the row level.


✅Why is HBase faster?
HBase is a column-oriented, non-relational database. This means that data is stored in individual columns, and indexed by a unique row key. This architecture allows for rapid retrieval of individual rows and columns and efficient scans over individual columns within a table.

✅Does Facebook use HBase?
Yes, Facebook uses HBase because they monitored their usage and figured out what the really needed.

✅Is Cassandra faster than SQL?
SQL is able to handle moderate storage. As Cassandra facilitates the automatic distribution of data, it allows relatively fast data transfer to or from the storage. As SQL allows manual distribution of data, the speed of data transfer, in this case, is relatively slow than of Cassandra
