Critically acclaimed director Lulu Wang visits TIFF’s Studio 9 ahead of the release of her six-part limited series, EXPATS. Touching on identity, perspective, and "expat" terminology, Wang plots the journey from her breakout film (THE FAREWELL) to her most recent entry.

Set against the vibrant and tumultuous tapestry of 2014 Hong Kong, Lulu Wang’s adaptation of Janice Y.K. Lee’s internationally bestselling novel The Expatriates, portrays a family tragedy from many perspectives. Each episode jumps back and forth in time from pre- to post-tragedy.
