Artificial intelligence (Al) is becoming increasingly integrated across our
technology ecosystem, yet public understanding of Al is limited. Al education
initiatives are needed to aid people in making informed decisions about their
personal technology use, Al-related policy decisions, and the role Al should
play in their schools and workplaces. In addition, widespread Al literacy has
the potential to equip the public with skills needed to collaborate and create
with rapidly changing Al technologies. Join Northwestern's Center for
Human-Computer Interaction + Design for an engaging conversation about
fostering public Al literacy through initiatives such as incorporating Al in K-
12 education, designing novel and creative Al learning experiences, and
engaging adults in learning and decision-making about Al in their
communities. This panel explores best practices for designing Al learning
experiences, how to ensure access to Al education is inclusive and equitable,
and what Al education may look like across different populations. Each
speaker present followed by a panel discussion moderated by Northwestern Assistant Professor Duri Long.
