On January 13th 2024 BYU junior Aidan Troutner became the first man ever to run a sub-4 mile (3:59.20) on BYU's indoor track which sits at 4,551ft elevation. Three days prior to that historic race the BYU distance crew did a mile race prep workout.

Group A: Aidan Troutner (NCAA mile qualifier), Lucas Bons (NCAA mile qualifier), James Corrigan & Joey Nokes

Tempo mile + 2x400 (2 min rest)
3 min recovery
Tempo mile + 2x400 (2 min rest)
