Welcome to the Haringvliet in the Netherlands - a huge body of water that's home to some of the biggest perch found anywhere in the world; a place where your next cast always has the potential to produce a new PB. For the obsessive perch fisherman, the Haringvliet is an absolute must at some point in your life.

After years of talking and fantasising about this ultimate angling adventure, we were lucky enough to spend a week there in March 2024.

And it definitely did not disappoint. Huge perch were caught, long-standing personal bests were obliterated over and over again, and a lot of fun was had. The stamp of fish was extraordinary - crazy as it sounds, 3lb and 4lb fish began to look small with the number of 5lb perch coming over the rails. And still the fish got bigger.

Hopefully this video goes some way towards capturing the head-spinning awesomeness of the perch fishing we encountered during that week.
