This is a Motormouth couple car review of the all-new Hyundai Elantra N high-performance compact sedan. The Elantra N has a 2L turbocharged 4-cylinder with a 6-speed manual or an available 8-speed dual clutch transmission, 276 horsepower and 289 lb-ft of torque. It’s FWD only and Premium fuel is recommended for better performance, but you can use regular. It gets about 489 km/304 miles to every fill. Not only does the Elantra N sound great especially in Sport or N mode, it feels planted and composed in the city or on the highway making your daily commute a lot of fun. The red button on the steering wheel engages the over-boost mode upping the power by 10 horsepower for 20 seconds at a time. With electronic limited slip differential, an electronically controlled suspension and five drive modes to choose from Eco, Normal, Sport, N and Custom, the Elantra N is a blast to drive. The Elantra N is aggressive looking and has a strong presence on the road. The red and black accents, the blacked-out grille, red brake calipers and N badging give it a sportier vibe. It has front and rear N exclusive bumpers, a wing-type high gloss black rear spoiler, large exhaust pipes, 19” Pirelli low profile summer tires and a tire repair kit. The Elantra offers 5.3” of ground clearance. This sedan has a driver focused cockpit with sport seats that cradle your body offering a lot of support and comfort for longer drives. It comes with a leatherette and suede interior with blue stitching, blue accents and N badging. The Elantra N has plenty of standard features including a 10.25” touchscreen and digital driver display, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, a wireless charger, wired Apple Carplay and Android Auto, a Bose audio system and a sunroof. Some features the Elantra N is missing include, a power driver and passenger seat, a passenger height adjustment, ventilated fronts seats, driver seat memory and heated rear seats. The Elantra N has only one trim, the manual is priced at $39,653 CAD/$32,150 USD
and the DCT $41,253 CAD/$33,650 USD.
