Is it time to create competition in our education system? The Orange County Board of Education definitely thinks so.

On September 20, 2022 the OCBE held a press conference on charter schools that was titled “Strengthening California's Charter Schools at a Local and State Level”. The OCBE strongly supports parental choice in education and their right as parents to direct the upbringing of their children. The goal of this forum was to expand the public and our elected official’s awareness of charter schools, give insight into the special requirements needed to expand charter schools and create specific legislation and public policy that will strengthen charter schools in the future.

Speakers included members of the OC Board of Education, Assemblyman Kevin Kiley (R), former Senator Gloria Romero (D) and a number of well-known advocates for Charter Schools.

A comprehensive and formal meeting followed the press conference.
