This video depicts the overall appearance before and after base of tongue reduction has been performed to correct obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). The region of tongue that gets removed is located just under the surface after going around the bend of the tongue you see in the back of the mouth and then downwards. Only the middle third of the tongue is removed in this procedure.
