I built a simple sleeping platform system for my Land Rover that converts your car into a luxurious double bed camper/overlander. It's a straightforward and inexpensive DIY project that is easy to accomplish with no special skills and only basic tools.

In fact, I aimed to make this design much simpler than many of the builds you see on YouTube. No drawers, no side flaps, and a new, simpler system for connecting the extension piece.

The result is a converting sleeping platform that deploys in seconds, leaving the seats free during the day and comfortably accommodating two people at night with a 2m long platform. It also offers abundant storage, which is handy for picnics and weekend trips. The entire system is easily adjustable to work with different-sized SUVs and even smaller cars. None of it is permanent, and it can all be taken out in 10 minutes.
