The Boxhole Boring Machine (BBM) is ideal for drilling vertical drawbell slot holes, ore passes and ventilation raises with a small diameter of 1.5 m. It can be used in stable rock formations and allows drilling diameters of up to 1.5 m with a maximum drill length of 70 m. The maximum inclination of the borehole is 30 degrees (off vertical). The Herrenknecht BBMs have been used in various mines around the globe and have successfully drilled more than 8,500 m and completed more than 350 shafts and slot holes without any accidents and with a high performance. Through implemented design upgrades, the BBM now offers even smaller transport dimensions and enables drilling in drifts with limited space.
